My Dell will not download to my Dell Demension 3000

I run aulauncher and the download gets to about 80% complete. Then a message appears and states that "My Dell has encountered a problem and needs to close."  Then a Dell message appears and says "Software not installed."  I have a Dell Demension 3000 and run Windows XP, Service Pack 3.  I have 2gb's of RAM.  It's a pentium 4 processor.  I have 12 GB's of hard disk space.  Help!!

Hi danotterman,

Restart your system > create a new profile > install My Dell again.

To create a new profile refer to the link below:

I am also on a Dell 3000 having the same problem, namely ... when trying to install "My Dell"

using aulauncher, I get the message of

"My Dell has encountered a problem and needs to close."

And trying to do an install with another new profile does NOT work.

Neither does uninstalling "My Dell" because I get that error message during UNinstallation also.

Do you have any other ideas to fix this problem.

"My Dell" software was working fine for me just yesterday.

Hi,

As you mentioned that the previous installation files are not uninstalling, it can cause an issue while installing My Dell.

Please uninstall previous version using RevoUninstaller. Use the link below:

http://dell.to/TyOPQ9

Please perform deep scan to remove registry entries as well.

Restart system > install My Dell.

Thanks & Regards

Manshu ... Thanks for the Revo pointer, but when I downloaded and looked at it ... It looks so complicated that it is very scary for a 77 year old. I'm afraid that I would delete the wrong thing and be in even worse shape. ;-) I did not see "My Dell" in the list of downloadable logs so that I could run it without reading the manual for a week first. Thanks much for the pointer though

My Dell downloads would not apply to a system that old.

XP is also End of Life End of support.
