NEWBIE QUESTION

I recorded a tape to my computer using one of the freewares offered on the net. Plays great on the computer. however, when I burn it to a cd, the cd player will not recognize it. I'm just now learning how to deal with audio. what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Sounds like you made an MP3 CD rather than a standard "audio" CD.   MP3's will only play on the PC and on audio CD players that specifically say they are MP3 compatible.  Most audio CD players are not MP3 compatible.

Same way when you are "recording" to the PC, record as wav files, wchih are full fidelity files and what is needed to make "audio" CD's.  Do not record to the PC as MP3 files as they are not full fidelity and must be converted to wav if you want to make an "audio" CD.

Fireberd,

Thanks for the response. So, how do I convert them to wav? Can media player 10 xp do this?

Thanks

Here's a link to a spyware free converter that will do that and much more:
