Need a NEWER Driver for my Integrated Network Card

I have a Dell Precision Tower 5810 running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.

My system has an Integrated Network Card (Intel Ethernet Connection 1217-LM)

The Driver for the Integrated Network Card is Version 12.12.80.19 but it is dated 9-29-2014

My System was built 9-17-2015 - so the Driver was already 1 Year old when the System was built.

Shouldn't there already be a more current Driver out there for my integrated Network Card?

No there would not be a new driver unless there were issues with the old driver.  Unless there is a specific issue there may NEVER be a new driver.

When all else fails, look on Dell's support page... emoticon.Wink.title

Yes, I have searched there & even on the Intel website.

I did not find a more recent driver anywhere.

Actually, I did find a 2016 driver on the Intel website but it was not for my specific integrated Network Card.

I figured there really was not a more recent driver, but I had to ask.

I am having problems with my integrated Network Card failing the ePSA Diagnostic & was hoping a newer driver might solve that problem.

Isn't driver v12.13.17.4 that I linked above for your specific NIC more recent than the one you have?  It's dated May, 2016 on that support page.

But -obviously- a new driver won't fix a hardware failure.

Have you tried clearing BIOS (resetting it to defaults) to see if that will fix the NIC issue?

Do you have the latest version of BIOS on this PC?

Under "Applies To", the closest is the WG1217-LM

I have only the 1217-LM

The Motherboard has been changed TWICE by Dell - so the integrated Network Card was also replaced twice.  So it probably is not a bad integrated Network Card.

May be grasping at straws here, but hoping a newer Driver might get rid of the integrated Network Card failing the ePSA Diagnostic.

P.S.

Every time the Motherboard was changed, the BIOS was updated to the latest BIOS A12 for that System.

They're probably the same thing. At worst the driver would say it's not compatible and won't install. But manually set a System Restore point first so you can role back, if necessary.

Exactly what ePSA error did you get? Have you tried clearing BIOS by pulling the motherboard battery and pressing/holding the power button for ~30 sec, before reinstalling the battery?
