Need driver disc for Conexant modem 05W416/RD01-D270
I'm trying to find an original Dell driver CD that contains the drivers and software for the Dell Conexant 56K modem with the part numbers CN-05W416 & RD01-D270
I think they might have also come in the Dimensions in the 2400/3000/4600 era in addition to being in Optiplex GX270 units that came with modems. Unfortunately, none of the modems I have are in their original systems, so I can't use the service tag option to track down the appropriate driver and software, so I thought I'd check here.

I looked at that earlier but there's nothing that identifies the modem model associated with the driver and I can't be sure that this model was included in the 270s to start with. That's why I'm hoping someone has a modem with an original CD, or just a CD that shows that model number.

I will eventually need a working driver for both XP and 2000, but in this case, I'm trying to find the Dell drivers for Windows 2000. (That's another reason I'm looking for the OEM CD, so I can have drivers for multiple OSes.)
The Dells drivers I find on thier site do list model numbers, but nowhere do I see either CN-05W416 or RD01-D270 mentioned. And that specific model is all that I can use in this situation.
Under 2000, the modem is unidentified - the drivers apparently aren't built into the OS.

What version of Windows?
When I looked at the link jfmy787 posted, each modem driver indicates which model it goes with, eg Conexant D850 Modem, Conexant/Asus v.92 Data/Fax Modem, etc. So I don't understand....
Have you looked in Device Manager under Modems to see if it identifies the modem that's installed?

Ignore those stupid part numbers! All you need to know is the modem model, eg Conexant D850 modem.
There's a driver for Conexant D850 modem here for BOTH Win 2K and XP. The D850 appears to be the only modem Dell installed in GX270 systems running Win 2K (because it's the only modem driver listed for Win 2K.)
If the system originally came with XP, there's a possibility it has either the D850 or a Conexant/Asus v.92 Data/Fax Modem. (Both modem drivers listed for XP.)
And even if you install the wrong driver the first time, at worst the modem won't work. So you can uninstall the driver and install a different one...

This machine dials into a state agency to deliver reports. The setup uses GX270s only and this model modem is the only one that is approved. In this case, I'm trying to configure a replacement machine. I loaded Win2K last week and the driver it automatically loaded for the modem wouldn't allow the connection to the state, so I wanted to do everything I can to make sure I had the OEM driver.

And one more thingy...
Who even has a dialup network connection in 2017?
So why do you even care about an ancient dialup modem? The GX 270 has an Ethernet port so why not just use that instead of a dialup modem? Looks like it's Intel Gigabit LOM Ethernet hardware so there's only one driver choice for XP or 2K.
And you can always remove the modem card from its slot in the PC.

Another option is if the machine has a serial just use a dial up modem that connects to the serial port. I have 2 of those in my junk box. There are also usb modems for sale on amazon .

Are you sure the driver that Win 2K loaded was configured correctly (eg, baud rate) to connect with whatever modem is on the other end?
Make sure you uninstall any driver before installing another one. All the OEM drivers are listed on the GX270 page, but you still have to know exactly which modem is installed. And the drivers on that page are more likely to be the latest versions, than anything you'll find on an old CD.
