New Computer

I got a new computer for Christmas Dell Desktop INspiron with Windows 7 HOme Edition,  I have it set so the monitor shuts down after 1 hour and then sleep after 2 hours, I cannot wake it up  , I have tried holding in the button on the front that is flashing for 3 to 6 seconds or hit a button on the keyboard or the mouse and it will not start up,I know there is a setting somewhere that isn't set right but not sure where it is,  could anyone help me figure this out

Windows 7 requires a brief push of the main power button--not the media buttons if you have those--to wake from Hybrid Sleep or Hibernation. Don't press too long or you will turn the computer off. The power settings are in Control Panel, but all you have to do is type Power in the Start box and it will appear in the column list. In Power Options you have to select Advanced Settings to change the power settings.
