Only see Yellow light

Dell Dimension 3000 XP that when I turn it on all I see is a flashing yellow light on the front of the case AND I have absolutely no fan spinning on the power supply. Would it be safe to assume that the power supply is bad?

Hi Cobra2000 and welcome to the Forums.

In most cases a blinking yellow light is due to a faulty PSU if it is steady (on all the time) it is the MOBO. Check your owners´manual.

Hope it helps.

The 3000 has an open back panel, most standard generic stock ATX PSU's, with or without the on/off switch and with either a 20-pin or 20 + 4-pin main motherboard connector, can be installed.

You should be able to buy the power supply unit from a local computer store or from any online vendor.

How to replace the PSU in a D-3000.

Bev.
