OptiPlex 7010 Desktop - Add a 2nd HDD?

Is there room in the 7010 Desktop case for a 2nd hard drive?  And is any additional mounting hardware required other than screws, and then an extra SATA cable?

Thanks,

Robert

There are four different versions of the Optiplex 7010, Mini Tower, Desktop, Small Form Factor and the Ultra Small Form Factor.

Assuming that you have the Desktop version and not the Mini Tower.

The desktop version, can support either one 3.5", or 2 x 2.5" SATA hard drives.

You will need a 3.5" x 2x 2.5" hard drive caddy, plus a SATA data cable and possible a SATA Y power splitter.

Internally Accessible   3.5-inch SATA drive bays 2.5-inch SATA drive bays
Mini-Tower                    two                            two
Desktop                        one                            two
Small Form Factor        one                            two

The Optiplex 3020 7020 9020 R494D 2.5 inch caddy fits inside the DN8MY 3.5 inch blue caddy.

The Silverstone adapter has all the mount points of a standard 3.5" hard drive, and it's only $8 with free shipping. It holds two 2.5" devices stacked.

So the SSD Adapter caddy is 0R494D

I'm sure that the Desktop came with a 3.5" HDD, so I take it that there is no space for an additional 3.5" in this case.

Thanks for the feedback.

I asked a dell tech via chat and they had me order everything they said I needed.  The cable they sent looks different than the one in your photo.  It's not really a splitter, it looks like a replacement cable.  I already have an ssd in the Dell OptiPlex 3020 Small Form Factor  and want to add a second 2.5 inch drive but it doesn't seem possible with the power cable they sent.
