Optiplex 390 A00 to A02 bios upgrade issue.

Hello,

I'm going to preface my post by saying I always leave bios updates as a last resort. That said, I just purchased a replacement moherboard for mine that died in a power brown-out last weekend. The bios level on the replacement board was A00. Due to issues i was having getting the machine to boot, I decided to updated the bios. I downloaded A11 to install, but it said A02 was a prerequisite. I downloaded and installed A02, and after successful install and reboot, the bios is not recognizing any sata drives. I've tried changing sata modes, clearing the bios, resetting to no avail. This is all related to a bigger problem I'm having, but recognizing the sata drives needs to be dealt with first. Is it possible to roll back to A00 or forward to A11 with a boot USB floppy?

Thanks for any help!

Rick

You probably didn't have the boot HDD connected to SATA0 the first time...

Ok, problem solved. Very odd, but plugging the hard drive into another port made the hard drive and dvd drive both appear in the bios. Strange, but I'll take it!
