Have had a difficult time trying to figure this out. Have an old Optiplex 980 that supports built-in RAID 0,1. Purchased a few Optiplex 3046 a few months ago for employees and Dell said that the Optiplex 3046 has built-in RAID support as well. I think they misunderstood the question. The Dell Optiplex 3000 series does not have built-in RAID support.
So this brings to question. Does the Optiplex 5000 and 7000 series have built-in motherboard RAID support like the Optiplex 980?
Secondly does the entire Precision lineup have built-in RAID support?
We are sorry that you purchased a system where there is no on board/built in RAID and some miscommunication happened.
We would like to know which model of 5000 or 7000 series system you are looking to buy if you can be specific we can answer the question because different models go with different specification once you confirm the model we can check if that particular model has options for In built RAID or not.
Where in if the systems are shipped with built in RAID we will help you with any query or questions you have.
