Hey All!
We can't seem to get Bitlocker working on our 7040s, have any of you seen this issue and have gotten it to work?
Dell Optiplex 7040
Windows 7 x64
TPM is on/enabled in BIOS
TPM 1.2 driver looks good in device manager
But when we try and turn bitlocker on via right-clicking the HDD it gives us the "A compatible Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Security Device must be present on this computer, but a TPM was not found. Please contact your system administrator to enable Bitlocker" error/message
When we look in tpm.msc we see "Compatible Trusted Platform Module (TPM) cannot be found on this computer. Verify that this computer has a 1.2 TPM and it is turned on in the BIOS" error/message
Any thoughts?
We were able to enable bitlocker on this model when we deployed Win10 but we are still mostly on Win7 for now.
Thanks!

The current TPM certificates are for windows 10 not windows 7. It also REQUIRES 64 bit windows. 7 is less than 5 years away from EOL EOS. Microsoft bitlocker REQUIRES the Microsoft Driver for TPM now.
Symptoms
On some Windows 7-based and Windows-8 based devices, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is not recognized as a compatible device and cannot be used for certain applications such as BitLocker Drive Encryption and Virtual Smart Card. Additionally, if you check the status of the TPM by using Windows TPM Management Console, you receive a "Compatible TPM cannot be found" message.
Also, you may experience the same behavior on some Windows-based devices when you perform an in-place upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 or from Windows XP or Windows Vista to Windows 7.
Cause
This issue occurs because the TPM is using the OEM driver and not the Windows built-in Trusted Platform Module driver.
Note When you open Device Manager on some devices, the TPM is listed under System Devices and not under Security Devices.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, open Device Manager on the device on which you are experiencing the issue, and then uninstall the Trusted Platform Module driver.
If you do a hardware scan, the TPM will be detected as a security device and will use the Microsoft driver. Additionally, the TPM will now be listed under Security Devices as "Trusted Platform Module 1.2."

www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails
reload the 1.2 tpm drivers in the bios and see if that clears it up.
