Optiplex 740 install xp help!
Hello,
I've recently formatted a dell optiplex 740 machine and upon install of XP the machine shutdowns/turns its self off!
This happened after setup has copied setup files and restarts to the screen with the bullet points of steps about to be taken. It gets to this screen and shuts down.
This may have also happened when booting into safe mode with the old install.
Any ideas? I'm about to beat myself with a brick..

Qu3,
* Turn the PC off
* Unplug the power cord from the back of the PC
* Remove the case cover
* Remove and reseat every card, cable, plug, and ram stick
* Close the case cover
* Reconnect the PC power cord directly to the PC and the wall socket
* Power the PC on and get into the bios. Leave it there. Does it stay on?
