I don't think you would be looking at this Galaxy card if you had a mini tower so I would question the fit in the SFF case due the the height of the heatsink on the card.  I had the Optiplex 745 SFF and there was very little room and I don't think this card would ever fit.  Hitting the capacitors if not the problem. If I remember, the card faces up so the bulk of the card goes towards the hard drive and you have very little room.  The HD 7750 may be the best card you're going to fit in there like this one HERE.  

Problem with SFF and THICK cards is that they don't physically fit in the Desktop or SFF.

I do have the mini tower, so wooho! Can't wait to get this card xD

You should not buy a slim card if your system supports a full size video card just because full size cards have better cooling options and generally have quieter fans.  

Actually For Most Optiplex Systems this is Wrong.  

None of the Optiplex 620, 745, 755, 760, 780 etc Towers Support FULL SIZE Double Wide Cards.  So the SLIM Cards are the ONLY option.

Even the TOWER version of Optiplex DOES NOT HAVE a  Full Length Slot 12 inches nor is it 2X Wide.

Any Card that has 2X wide bracket or is longer than 8.5 inches will have physical blockage to insertion.

Riser for Desktop Models is only 1 Slot wide also and again 8 inches long.

This 5770 isn't too long but its 2X wide and will NOT go in.

This 5770 is 1X wide but requires an aux Visiontek 900222 power supply , FSP Group Booster X5 450W or ePOWER EP-450CD 450W Juice Box power supply.

Most double slot cards use the second slot 'plate' as a cooling vent.  That is blocked by the Optiplex case.    The solution is up to you.  


I have a  X1950XT - double width - that would fit an Optiplex 755 MT,   if:

• 305W PSU will drive it?   A: 2D uses just 50W, but 3D 110W (peak).
• Cutup the card's face plate - the second slot area, or cannibalize a single-slot card for the plate instead.
• To add ventilation to the partly obstructed fan vent, remove the section of plastic for the case rear, increasing flow by the two holes uncovered..
• It clears the tops of those 2 capacitors shown? - yes, by a mm.
• It clears the CPU shroud? ------  YES!

I'm looking at the HD 7750 - GDDR5 for my Optiplex, similiar size of the above HD 5770 but no power plug required.  Some are single slot with just the fan sticking out.

For more clearance with those (2) tall capacitors, I could use a PCI-E straight riser adapter, even if just x8 instead of x16.
