PCIe 2.0 compatible with e510 / Win7 upgrade??

I have a Dimension e510 with the Intel 945G Express chipset, P4 3.0 dual-core processor with hyperthreading, 4 gigs of Crucial DDR2 Ram, Antec 500w ps and an ATI Radeon x300se vid card.

1) I want to upgarde to Win7 32 bit, Microsoft Upgrade Advisor says yes and Dell says no for the e510. I have read that people have done it with custom install np, will this work for me?

2) Looking to upgrade video card to something like EVGA GeForce 9800 GT Video Card ...is this a PCIe 2.0 card that is compatible with my PCIe x16 interface?? If so, I know if the Win7 works I will need to install drivers from EVGA.

Thanks!

Cool, so what you are saying about the 9800GT drivers is that if it is on win7 compatibility list the drivers will be on the win7 disk, or server?

The e510 is highly likely to be compatible with Windows 7. For what it's worth, I installed Windows 7 on an old Dell Dimension 2350 that doesn't even have an AGP slot. So, rest assured that it will install on your e510.

It's also highly likely that the 9800GT drivers are available on the Windows 7 install disc. And if they're not, Windows 7 will automatically download and install them.
