PSU upgrade for my Dell inspiron, what do I need to know?
So I have a dell Inspiron (i5 4590, 8gb ddr3 1600mhz, gt 705 ((display adapter most likely)) presumably a Dell Inspiron 3847 or a similar model) and I have been looking at upgrading the psu as 300w limits my choice of graphics cards that I can install. I've found very little and very mixed information on the matter; some people say that I need an atx12v/eps12v power supply that delivers at least 25A on the 3.3 and 5 volt rails, and ers saying that any atx12v/eps12v will be okay to use. Can anyone give me advice on picking a psu for my Dell?
PS. I intend to use a gpu such as a gtx 1060 6gb or rx 580 8gb for best case scenario.

If you are looking for a psu upgrade you can pick up a Corsair CS750M as an upgrade it should fit in the case just fine.

Sorry for the late response. I'm thinking that maybe paying 100 or so dollars for a power supply only so that I can use a gpu that is 30-40% faster than a 1050 ti isn't worth it when adding up the cost of a psu upgrade combined with gpu cost vs buying a single gpu that doesn't require a psu upgrade to use in the first place. Thank you for the answer though, appreciate it.

A 400 watt PSU is plenty for a GTX 1060 in that system.

They were given a recommendation for a corsair cx 430
A corsair cx 430 would be OK, but unless it is on sale for less than $30 I'd shop around. ( current pricing is $49.99 )
Corsair CX450M is semi modular and cheaper. currently 26.99 after rebate at new egg.
EVGA 's 450B is a decent unit, and is on sale for $31 at new egg.
If you want a much better quality PSU, SeaSonic SSR-550RM is on sale, also at new egg for $49.99
Anyway, a 750 watt PSU is not needed and overkill in a system like this.
I run a 650W PSU in my fairly well built, overclocked workstation with an overclocked GTX 970. I still am only using about 400 watts full load.
