Precision T5600 DVD/Blu Ray Drives are gone!!
Neither of these drives show up in My Computer.. Even when I insert a disc in either drive... No windows open up... I used to get a prompt for a blank disc.. Even Roxio says there are no disc drives available...
The drives light up then nothing happens.. I have started and restarted the system several times.

Version of Windows?
Are they listed in Device Manager?

Hi,
Please open the registry. Open the search option, type in regedit and open the registry. now follow this path. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 } Once you are here on the right hand side if you see upper filters or lower filters, right click on them and delete. You will get a pop up message ignore and continue.
Now uninstall the drives in device manager and restart the machine and check if the drives work.
