Primary hard disk drive 0 not found after installing PCI video capture card

I got the "Primary hard disk drive 0 not found... press F1... press F2..." error today after installing a video capture card in the PCI slot on my OptiPlex 320.  My machine was working fine before the install.

 

I removed the HD connections and replaced them, then rebooted --> no luck.

 

Next, I placed the video capture card in the other PCI slot and rebooted --> again, no luck.

 

I then removed the video capture card and rebooted and all was back to normal.

 

Why is it that the installation of the video capture card is causing the primary HD to not be detected -- and more importantly -- how do I fix this?
