Problem with Studio XPS 8100 Dell 1525 wireless card

My brand new Dell 1525 wireless card is only intermittently picking up a wireless signal and is always losing it within only a minute or two - meanwhile, every other computer in the house picks up the signal with no problem whatsoever. Oftentimes when I try to troubleshoot it, it simply tells me to plug in an Ethernet cable and doesn't bother doing anything with the wireless connectivity. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the card plus its drivers, tried updated drivers, but no dice. The card had been working fine for a week or two, but then now for the last several days it's been doing this. Any ideas?
