I also used chat Tech support on the Dell web site.  Had a 64-bit disc within a day.

I also used Dell Online Chat and had the DVD within a few days. Now, only if UPS didn't leave the box in my yard during a heavy rain storm.

I'm Uk based and used the email option when trying to get to live chat.

I had my answer in a matter of days and am currently awaiting the disk now.

Hope this helps you.

Well i guess that the other address must think that Dell realyy care about them, sending them a free disk lol

I've just received my Dell Windows Vista Ultimate x64 DVD today through the post. I contacted Dell via e-mail support and quoted Dell's support document on upgrades (which Chris M gave me). They said it would take seven days to arrive but it didn't come so I contacted them again and they sent it by next day delivery. Very happy with the support I received. I'm based in the UK btw.

Chris got me the disk when I PM'd him, was in my hands in two days, almost the same amount of time I spent on the phone between tech support and sales - each told me that they had never heard of such a thing.  When I quoted the Dell policy number, the supervisor told me that only applied in Canada, Who Knew???

Thanks again Chris for cutting through the red tape.

It definitely sounds a case of it depends on who you speak/write too on whether you get the upgrade DVD or not. I think I must have been lucky to get one, judging by some of the experiences I've read.
