R7610 / thunderbolt card solution

Hi all,

I have just bought a Dell Precision R7610 and willing to install Window 10.

I'm really new to the PC world so all help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know if there is an option to add a Thunderbolt card to it ?

If yes, which one ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sébastien.

This is not an option.  There is no such thing as a thunderbolt card.  The AIC is a bracket that gets power from the PCI-E bus in a SPECIFIC SLOT and uses the card slot but has a GPIO header and requires external Display port Wrap thru.  Because there is no standard for this each vendor has "a card" that ONLY WORKS on their system and ONLY on models that have a thunderbolt chipset and GPIO Header.

Hi SpeedStep, ok I get it, thank you very much for the clarificaton.

I will move on to another solution... eSata, USB3... we'll see.

This is for fast datas transfer for 6K video files.

Also, regarding the second part of your answer, does it mean that the R7610 has the same specs than the R7910 ? or Did Dell renamed the same computer ?

The R7610 or R7910 DO NOT EVER SUPPORT thunderbolt AIC.

This isn't an option and never will be.
