Re-activate Integrated graphics controller (Re-post)
This is a re-post as I inadvertently requested email replies, which has added significant delays.
I'm replacing an old Dimension with an Inspiron, & need to remove the PEG graphics card but the on-board controller is disabled & I fear ending up with no active controller at all!
I'm looking at the Primary video screen of BIOS & it's set to 'onboard/PEG'. If I change this to 'auto' will the m/c use whichever controller has a monitor attached to it? If not, and I just remove the graphics card, will the onboard ctrllr automatically reactivate? Could I do this by using Device Manager to disable the card?
Help, please.

There is no Reactivation. You MUST remove the card to use onboard. This happens automatically.
