Running Win10 on a Studio XPX 8100

Dell says I can't do it, but some people here say they are doing it.  Can it be done?  How (drivers>?)

The XPS 8100 is not officially supported for Windows 10, but that doesn't mean it is not Windows 10-compatible. Drivers should be available through Windows Catalog.

The Win 10 upgrade can be applied through Windows Update. If there are any missing drivers, they can usually be found via right-clicking on the device in Device Manager and selecting 'Update Driver.' If not, they can usually be found on the vendor's site.

I have uploaded several old Dells to Windows 10, including an 11-year-old Dimension 3100, and the needed drivers were available through the means I suggested.

Windows 10 Installation Media is up to date and as a consequence natively includes the system drivers for more and more hardware especially hardware that's been out for a number of years (e.g. this system is 6 years old now). Windows 10 also automatically picks up additional drivers from Windows Update.

My XPS 8300 was also unsupported by Dell for Windows 10 and is a very similar model. Everything had an inbuilt driver with a Clean Windows 10 Installation.

Note for the Dell Wireless 1525 Card Driver found in your XPS 8100 Windows 10 will have an inbuilt driver however Dell provide this driver which will increase the stability of the wireless:

Unfortunately the XPS 8300 and XPS 8100 just missed out on UEFI so have a Legacy BIOS.
