Setting Baud Rate For PC Communications: How ?

Hello:

Running XP.
Not too sharp with this.

I have two shortwave radios that can be controlled by PC software.
The software has a box for selecting the COM Port, and also the Baud Rate.

But, I think, this Baud Rate is only for what the radio uses in talking back
to the PC. Not sure, though.

Is there something in the XP options where I can select a Global Baud Rate
that the PC would use for communication(s) ?

I looked in Device Manager, which is very confising for me, and didn't
really see anything applicable.

Any thoughts on this would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

As this question is about Windows XP, the Software - Windows XP forum would be a better place to post this in the future.

Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Options, Phone and Modem Options (top left).

However, not that the baud rate is usually set to a maximum and automatically throttles back if needed, so you may want to try BEFORE changing anything.
