Studio Hybrid with Ubuntu 10.04: CD/DVD eject button doesn't work

Hello, I've been using Ubuntu for almost a year now and I'm very satisfied. By now it has replaced my Windows completely. I recently use a Dell Studio Hybrid which has a CD/DVD drive with slotin-function. I have installed Ubuntu 10.4 now and there is one thing I have a problem with:
The drive itself has no eject button, however, the case has a softtouch-key, which lights up as soon as there is a medium inside and which usually is able to eject the medium. With windows it all works properly, but not with Ubuntu. Ubuntu does not recognize that a medium had been inserted – the key does not light up. Ubuntu boots up with an illuminated key, even if there is no medium in the drive. Softwarewise I can eject the medium easily. Who would be so kind as to help me?

The best section to post this in, would be the Software & Operating Systems Linux forum HERE, this is for Desktop Hardware.
