Studio XPS 435MT Fan
Does anyone know if the Studio XPS 435MT Fan noise issue has been rectified and current shipments of the product no longer have this issue?

I purchased 2 studio xps systems from the outlet. Both units whir up when powered up but are quiet (by normal computer standards) the rest of the time. 1 is a basic i7 920 w/6gig ram, 4850 graphics,wireless n card. The other is i7 940 w.12gig ram, 4850 grphic, wireless n, 19 card reader w/blutooth and bluray reader and recorder.
I think it's the luck of the draw and I don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be. You can always replace the fan for less than $50. I don't know what the original fan is or if the outlet replaces them. I love this little power house and saved over $1000 on the i7 940 12gig, through the outlet. The machine manufacture date was 9 Jan 09 and I got it 5 Feb 09. It must have been ordererd, built then cancelled. I grabbed it as soon as I saw it. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will just have wait and see. According to Dell, my computer won't be shipped until mid-March 2009, I ordered it last sunday. It makes me sick that I have to wait for a month and half just for a computer, although the price is outstanding. Supposedly the hold up is because of the Radeon 4850.
Im tempted to go to the outlet and see what I can find and possibly cancel my existing order. GEEZZZ.
