Switching Processors

I have an '04 2400 with a Celeron processor. I recently came across a Pentium 4 with the same socket, PGA 478. The L2 cache is doubled to 512, same with the FSB, 800. The Cel runs at 2.4 and the P4 at 3.0Ghz. They are both 32-bit units. What other things being equal, would this switch work?

What is the sSpec number of the P4 3.0GHz processor?

The Dimension 2400 can use either 400MHz or 533MHz, Socket 478, P-4 Northwood, or Celeron processors with a 512k or smaller cache.

The P4 SL6WK processor is not compatible with the Dimension 2400, it has a 800MHz FSB.

Information about compatible Dimension 2400 P4 processors, can be found HERE

Interesting that you should ask that. I actually removed the Celeron and replaced the Thermal paste just to find the sSpec. The number for the Celeron is SL6VU, and for the P4, SL6WK. I looked at the pin array and ,Wow, are they different. The P4 has all 30 whilst the Celeron only has 12. I'm referring to the central array, not the muititude  surrounding them.
