T3500 Error Code Pb7

So I have a T3500, was running normally, unplugged a RepRap 3d printer that I had just finished building, about 5 seconds later the computer died, on re-starting it flashes the Pb7 error code, which translates to:

ACPI S0, hand off to BIOS control

System on. BIOS not execution. This is the transition state to POST states.

according to the service manual.

I've tried powercycling, resetting the BIOS, swapping around RAM sticks, adding/removing PCIe cards, nothing helps. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to fix it/could suggest possible fixes? The workstation was acquired second hand so it's out of warranty and we really can't afford to replace things.

Thanks in advance for any help,

// RG

I know this is a year old - however, I'm upgrading one for a customer, installing an X5650 chip, and getting the same error, I suspect Dud CPU.

"BIOS must be updated BEFORE changing CPU." - this one is fair obvious - and was performed before changeover.

You seem to have been looking at the same page I was.

Multimeter confirmed that voltages were fine.

Thankyou - I can confirm that it's not just me - there may well be something wrong with the CPU.

Solid Amber — System fault(Motherboard), but +5VSB Power Supply is good—normal operating state (S0)

BIOS must be updated BEFORE changing CPU.

Pb7 is dead motherboard/cpu

Hi

Were you able to resolve it?

Yes it was resolved - the CPU was malfunctioning.
I obtained another X5650 and replaced it with complete success.
