T5600 Windows Server 2012 R2 install?

Is it possible to install Windows Server 2012 R2 install on my T5600?

As of now, I cannot get the install disk to recognize the HD.

You'll need to put the drivers for the drive controller onto a flash drive, pause the installation with F6 and insert the flash drive to load the drivers.

What type of hard drive (SAS, etc.) is in the system, and what model controller?

I am using a SATA hd. There is no external controller; I removed the PERC 310 and want to use the onboard/non-RAID controller.

I have been trying several RST f6 drivers, but nothing seems to work.

I did manage to install ws 2008 R2 by using the F6 method, but I did not have to literally hit the f6 button. When the WinPE does not see the HD, it prompts for a driver. Although ws 2008 R2 is not officially supported by Dell, the Win 7 drivers worked.

The ws 2012 R2 WinPE does the same as the ws 2008 R2, but I have not been able to get it to work with any of the RST f6 drivers. So now I am wondering if this is even possible.

Thanks very much for your help. I got the installation to start using the drivers from RSTe_f6_X5W2D_A02_ZPE.exe

I think there was something wrong with the initial .iso disk I made.

The install is progressing, so I am assuming I can run WS 2012 R2 using Win 8 drivers, just like I installed WS 2008 R2 using drivers for Win 7.
