Tesla M2090 in Dell Precision T7400

Jump to solution

I am trying to use a Tesla M2090 GPU in my Dell workstation to accelerate the CPU processing.  I have an nVidia GTX580 GPU for my monitors.  I downloaded the drivers, but I get a message for the Tesla that says "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API."  It also gives me a "Code 10".  Any suggestions?

I got this to work!  I didn't see the 8pin power connector on the back side of the Tesla (I was only using the 6 pin on the side).  Wired it correctly, and reinstalled all drivers.  Not sure how to post a pic, but device driver shows both cards working.  Ran a CPU benchmark, and got better results particularly with Floating Math, Prime numbers, and Compression.

The T7400 chipset and processor are not PCI-E 3.0 they are PCI-E 1.1 and therefore it WON'T EVER work.  You do not have 6th generation XEON proccessor with QPI  (Quick Path Interface with PCI-E 3.0)  You have to have more PCI-E bus bandwith than that.

The INTEL 5400 chipset is PCI-E 1.1

The first video slot is X16 and the 2nd one is X4.

Your Telsa M2090 is PCI-E 2.1

My MOBO has 2 PCIe2 x 16 slots.  Both the Tesla M2090 and the GTX580 are PCIe2 cards.
