Touchpad buttons not working(Clicking) on my Dell XPS 13 - 9360

Hi all,

For the last 3 weeks my touchpad buttons stopped working. The pointer works well but the buttons are not clicking. This is probably a driver issue but all drivers are up to date and the buttons are enabled.

Please help.

Version of Windows?

Have you looked at the Windows screen with touchpad settings to see if something isn't set correctly?

Have you run the Windows Hardware Troubleshooter?

Hey Ron,

I have tried everything possible, from internally checking if everything is working correctly, to troubleshooting, updating. etc.

The touch screen on the mousepad works. But not when I click. *press down.

The battery is likely swollen and blocking the travel of the touchpad buttons above it.

Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery.  If it's swelling, remove it from the system and get it out of your home or office.

Then call Dell to have the battery replaced (either under warranty or not -- they're replacing these out of warranty at no cost).
