Trouble with 9800 GTX+ Vid Card Swap

Hi All,

I have a XPS710 with dual 7900 GS video cards in SLI mode

I purchased a single 9800GTX+ to upgrade

Problem is I get a black screen at power up

I tried;

1. .Ddownloading the latest BIOS update

2. Turning off SLI mode in the nVidia Control Panel

3. Setting it to single display mode

Nothing works so far

The Dell Tech seems to think it may be that the that the 9800 is PCIe 2.0 and the motherboard is PCIe 1.0

The card should be backwards compatible but he thinks there may be a defect that fouls up the 2.0 Card

Motherboard is out of stock and too old to expect any restock

Has anyone had any similar issues?
