Upgrade CPU Optiplex 360
I have a few Optiplex 360 machines with Celeron 450 @2.20 processors that I use to show instructional videos to people. The newest software update for the videos now stutters as the video plays. The CPU is maxing out a 100% whenever this stutter occurs. The CPU is below the software company's minimal specs for using the videos. I wanted to see if I could upgrade the CPUs on my machines rather than buying all new machines. The motherboard part no. is T656F. If anyone could help with a list of more powerful processors that are compatible with this machine, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance for your time.

Believe it or not, I recently installed a Xeon E5440 Quad Core CPU in my completely stock Optiplex 360 MT with the use of a LGA 775-to-771 adapter sticker. Here's the CPU-Z Validation for my rig: http://valid.canardpc.com/ez64uq.
Some of us are having a discussion on how to do this mod on the "Optiplex 330 CPU Upgrade" thread if anyone is interested.

They will take low end E7000 Series Core2 duo with the latest bios.
This DOES NOT mean they will work with core2 quad or 8000 series or 9000 series etc.
Going to be hard to find an E7200 these days

Thanks for the help! Do you think an E7300 would work?

Thanks for the help. I put an e7200 in one of the machines and it works well. The video still skips every now and then, but much less than before. How high in the 7000's do you think I could go in replacing the CPUs? 7300? 7600? Please let me know what you think when you have time. Thanks again.
