Vista 32 to 64 ?

Hello I hope my question is not a stupid one:emotion-10:

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 530 back in 2008 and I chose Windows Vista 32 OS.

Does it cost more for me to now change my machine Vista 64? I do not think I have the boot disks either.

I want to reformat my machine but would prefer to put Vista 64 on it.

Thanks for any info emoticon.Smile.title

You would need to buy new copy of Vista 64-bit.

Personally, instead of buying a Vista 64-bit DVD, I would upgrade the Inspiron 530 to Windows 7.

You shouldn't have to reformat just to install a 64-bit OS; if you install into the same partition, the old OS install will be archived into its own folder, with all your data intact.

Unless you're planning on using more than 8gb, the 32-bit version should work as well as the 64-bit one.
