Vostro 410 - RAM Limitation?

Does the Vostra 410 suffer from the Inspiron 530's pre-bios upgrade RAM limitation?

The manual says the Vostro can only address 4GB of RAM?

Is this true... or an out of date manual?

Depends in part on what chipset is installed on the motherboard. And, 4 GB is also a limit for XP and Vista, unless you have 64-bit version.

Yes I know, but  for example with the Inspiron 530, it is capable of >4GB of RAM, but until recently the BIOS could not handle >4GB.

The Vostro's manual states 4GB max - is this the true limitation, or can the machine take more RAM.

And yes, I'll be using 64-bit Windows whether or not it's "officially" supported by Dell.
