I just bought an Alienware Aurora R5 and I would like to know your advice regarding which UPS should I get. In case there is a blackout in my area while I'm gaming or using my computer, I would like to have enough time in order to shut down the computer properly and avoid any kind of damage.
These are the specs and devices connected to my computer:
-850W PSU Liquid Cooled Chassis
-Dual NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 1080 with 8GB GDDR5X each (NVIDIA SLI(R) Enabled)
-64GB (4X16GB) DDR4 2133MHz SDRAM Memory
-1TB PCIe SSD (Boot) + 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s (Storage)
-Tray-Loading Dual Layer Blu-Ray Reader
-Dell Wireless 1820 Card (802.11AC Dual-Band Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.1)
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K Processor (4-Cores, 8MB Cache, Turbo Boost 2.0, Overclocked up to 4.2GHz on all four cores).
-Dell 24" S2417DG Gaming Monitor
-Acer 23" H236HL LCD Monitor
-1 USB port hub
I was thinking in getting CP1500PFCLCD 1500VA/900W but Im not really sure if this is good enough for my gaming rig?
Your help and advice regarding which UPS do I need will be highly appreciated.
CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS 1500VA 900W PFC Pure Sine Wave UPS system - 1500VA/900 Watts, designed to support Active PFC power supplies and conventional power supplies.
Should be fine. Don't expect to run more than 2 minutes though.
Thank you! I just want to make sure that this UPS is powerful enough in terms of watts to handle the PC plus the two monitois that i Have.
Would you recommend any other UPS different than this one?
Im a little bit concerned since the PSU of my Alienware is rated at 850watts and the UPS that Im planning to buy is just 50watts above that.
Do you think I will be safe?
I dont want my system acting funny or shutting down on me due to this.
I would suggest buying 2 of these units and running an LED Desk Lamp and the 2 monitors on a separate UPS.
