What processors should i get?

I have a dell 690 with the

my171 rev. a02 motherboard

gtx 560 ti oc graphics card

8gb of ram

thats all I know so far i want to make this machine a great gaming device so now i need to know what is the best processor for strictly gaming for this device

Dell has tested the Dual Xeon  processor with the Intel E5000X Greencreek Chipsets and you can also check the compatible chipsets available which can be updgraded.

I thought the dell 690 is compatible with the 51xx and 53xx xeon processors but on intel it said that the 5000x chipset is compatible with the X5492 is this true?

The Dell Precision 690 come with the Intel E5000X / Intel Xeon Dual Core 5110 series and is compatible with the following chipsets.

Intel® 5000P Chipset

Intel® 5000V Chipset

Intel® 5000X Chipset

Intel® 5000Z Chipset

Intel® 5100 Chipset

Intel® 5400 Chipset

We do not have information on the X5492 compatible with the 5000X series chipsets.
