Windows 8 re-installation with SSD

Unfortunately you will not be able to move the windows file to another drive, if you do so the operating system my stop working.
I would recommend you to reinstall the operating system on HDD; you will be able to recognize the HDD by looking at the size during the installation.

Thanks for the quick response. I tried (several times) to reinstall Windows, using the reinstallation of Windows 8 settings and the recovery DVD, but it keeps putting all programs on the SSD and I'm not given a chance to choose differently.

I tried an installation on the HDD using the Dell recovery DVD, but get an error: 'MBR partition table, while it requires a GPT disk'. The I tried several things to change the partition of the HDD to GPT, but no succes so far. At Windows and GPT FAQ (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn640535(v=vs.85).aspx), there is the 'Changing a master boot record disk into a GUID partition table disk' using the command prompt. Unfortunately it doesn't work. After the last step, 'convert gpt' I get the error message below: ‘Virtual Disk Service error: The specified disk is not convertible. CDROMs and DVDs are examples of disks that are not convertible.’ Changing the boot from 'UEFI; secure boot: on' to 'UEFI with legacy OPROM; secure boot off' doesn't help either. 350Mb of my HDD is partitioned in FAT32, which I did not delete with the rest of the volume, because I don't know what it is for and how essential it is. Might it resolve anything to delete this, or move it to the SSD (how?). I cannot discover any files on it. On my SSD, 300Mb is set apart as 'recovery partition' and 99 Mb as 'EFI System partition'. What puzzles me most is that my computer ran fine for 1 1/2 years. Then it blocked, I reinstalled Windows, and for some reason I can't get it connfigured properly anymore. I never checked in the past how the disks were connfigured and how Windows was installed on the HDD (or in part on the SDD?).

Finally managed to fix it; thanks for the advice.

After removing the 350 Mb FAT32 part (I still don't know how it got there and what is was for but my computer seems to work fine without) I could change the partition to GPT. Then I could install Windows on the HDD.
