Would Precision work for a "gamer"

Newbie here.

I have been prowling the Dell Auction site in the hopes of getting computers for my two kids for their home use,. For one of them there is the problem of trying to get something that will be OK for a budding gamer.

Some of the types of choices are:

1)      Dell Optiplex GX260/SFF 2.3 GHz 512 MB CDRW DVD service tag # 3XVLX11

2)      Dell Precision WS340 2400MHz 512MB 40GB 48X service tag # 3YRTB21

3)      Dell Dimension 8200 2.4 GHz 512MB CDRW service tag# 4KF0Y11

From what I have seen the Optiplex or the WS340’s would be more affordable. But I really don’t know if they would “fit the bill” for a gaming machine.

Any help would be appreciated.
