XPS 2720: What has happened to the Touch Screen functionality

I bought this All-in-all less than 2 months ago and I have lost my touch screen functionality.  Can anyone please tell me if this is a fault or if it has been "switched off".  The only new thing is that I recently did an automatic windows 8 upgrade.  I have tried to ring support, but by the time i get home the support line is closed.  My keyboard also sticks.  The space bar does not always work properly

This is very annoying considering how much money I spent buying this machine...

Hi EniBee,

Did you update to Windows 8.1 or did  you upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8? You may have to update the drivers and the BIOS.

Please update the BIOS and drivers on your computer by clicking on the link below. Select the correct operating system and then download and install the drivers.

Click on this Youtube link for a video on how to update your Dell PC's BIOS in 99 Seconds:  http://dell.to/1fGmlNu

Follow instructions mentioned below prior to the BIOS update.

  • Disconnect any third party peripherals connected to the computer before performing BIOS update.
  • Remove any cd/dvd from the optical drive prior to the BIOS update.
  • Do not turn off the computer during the BIOS update.
  • Do not restart the computer during the BIOS update.

Note: Plug your computer to a good, working wall jack before you update the BIOS. If you experience a loss of AC power or a significant voltage sag/spike during the BIOS flash, you will either have to replace the BIOS chip or motherboard.

Please keep us posted on the results so that we may assist you further, if required..

Thanks & regards,
