XPS 710 Power Supply Issues

Hello fellow Dellians

My "older" Desktop XPS 710 is having power issues.

Sometimes, when I turn on the power supply, there's a muted buzzing sound (no fan-activity!) and the indicator-LED blinks amber.

After the first occurence, I have tried replacing the power cable, which worked just fine. (Fan-activity and green light when turning on power supply)

Then everything was fine for a few days and now I've had the exact same problem again.

This time, I waited about an hour and tried again and its running once more.

Can you tell me whats wrong with my system?

Greetings, lxps

This error condition is caused by a faulty power supply, a short in the system, or an incorrectly connected cable.

Finally I've made the call to the support center. They're going to replace my power supply.

Thanks, Chris M!
