I just can't believe this.  They post another urgent BIOS update and can't even take the extra few seconds to explain what it does.  I understand hurrying to get the last one out before the holidays but this is just not right.  What kind of idiots are running things at Dell.

It's rather ironic since we're still waiting to find out the purpose of A04..... I am sure if it was for Wolfdale support Dell wouldn't be able to refrain them selves from telling us all about it? Who knows, lets hope it is though!

Seems like Chris would find out what's up and get us the information we so deserve.

I upgrade my bios.

The only thing I notice is that my ram speed can work @ 1066, the previos bios windows crash on startup saying the system files was missing then I have to setup on Bios the memory to Standard to my system work normaly but running @ 800.

And still not display the Intel Extreme Processor QX6850 showing Q6850.

XPS 720 Red Air Cooled
Intel Extreme QX6850 @ 3Ghz
4Gb Corsair Dominator DDR2 @ 1066 (8500C5D)
GeForce 8800 Ultra SLI
300Gb Raid 0 and 1Tb Raid 0
X-fi Gamer
Windows Vista Home Premium

relevant to the thread because if we're lucky (crossing my fingers), this updated bios will allow support for wolfdale cpus.

Not bad...

I gotta run yank it back out though, I'd hate to have to "justify" this upgrade.

After updating A05 my 3Dmarks are unchanged @ 18200 before and after with no GFX OCing.
The only difference I noticed is that my CPU title is now missing in the BIOS it has just been replaced with an empty space......
