XPS 8300 - New gpu, not being detected or working.

Hello all i have a xps 8300, with a stock motherboard, 12 gb ram and the same CPU (i7 2600)

i recently changed my hard drive to an ssd, with no issue, and a while back i upgraded my gpu to a GTX 550 ti,

RECENTLY i bought a new PSU EVGA 500 watt bronze, and a new Gigabyte R9 270x OC edition, i managed to fit both parts in and run the pc with no issues without the GPU,

However installing the new R9 270x wont allow my pc to boot, it gives me a black screen and my inputs (keybaord mouse) do not work also

I have done some research on the forums it seems the bios and the motherboard are not  compatible, is there ANY fix that is available with my configuration

I have tried

-uninstalling all driver/reinstalling

-The sleep power down video card swap trick

-and checking for bios updates (IM on A06)

None of these seem to work

TLDR: Can i get my xps 8300 stock motherboard to run a r9 270x or do i need to upgrade my board ?

Thank you

You need a new board or you can buy the evga gtx 970 or 980. Or the gtx 760. The sapphire r9 270x confirmed working as well.

you mentioned a switch, most likely you need to flip that switch.

OHH AND ONE MORE THING!

Some EVGA PSUs come with a 24 pin adapter connect that to the 24 pin cable that isnt used and try powering the card only with your psu. Use your default psu to power everything else. (This will fix your not powering on problem).

Also, I have been able to run a 270x on the default 460w psu.
