XPS 8300 with Win 7 Constant Crashes
Thought I would drop a post on the XPS 8300 problems. I have had crashes getting worse for months until it would not even boot to Windows normally. I have read every post that Google produced. I changed hard drives, installed new memory, ran every diagnostic program, installed new device drivers... nothing.
Until today, I disabled cpu Turbo Boost in the bios. Now running stable and never faster. Even loaded up the extra RAM sticks I acquired during the trouble-shooting.
Hope this helps someone.

How about a power supply?

The bios fix worked for me. I was thinking about and dreading the possibility of swapping the power supply, but thankfully I did not have to do it.
