As part of upgrading to a GTX 970, I flashed my BIOS to rev. A11 (was using A03 previously), which went fine.
However, now on cold boots, my system gets stuck at the Dell logo screen; no further SSD activity.
From this point, my system can boot up, but it requires a manual power off and on again. Warm reboots work fine; everything loads fine.
I'm using Legacy BIOS mode in Win7 Pro 64bit, which I would think should work fine--what am I doing wrong? If not, how can I resolve this?
Any help is much appreciated; specs are below:
Dell XPS 8700 | Core i7 4770 3.4GHz | BIOS A11 | Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1 | 16GB G.SKILL DDR3 Sniper 1600MHz | EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC | Dell S2340M 23" IPS LED | Seasonic 650W M12II-650 | Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB | Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB | ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 | ASUS DRW-24B1ST | Logitech G100S | Dell SK-8135 keyboard | Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2
UPDATE: Thanks to Dell-Chris, I managed to downgrade the BIOS to A10 (using the instructions below):
However, the problem persists, so I'm not sure where to go from here?
Any help/suggestions of things to try would be greatly appreciated!
