XPS 8920, 16GB Memory Configuration

I am looking to purchase a Dell XPS 8920 to replace a aging Dell XPS. The only options that they offer are 8GB and 16GB of base memory. The XPS 8920 indicates that it is has a maximum memory capability of 64GB with a 16GB memory module in each of the four slots. Does Dell provide a single 16GB memory module or 2 - 8GB memory module when 16GB is selected?

XPS 8920 validated DDR4 (288pin/Unbuffered/NonECC/1.2v) memory modules =
YXC0V 16GB, 2400MHz, 2Rx8, Dual Rank
V51K2 16GB, 2133MHz, 2Rx8, Dual Rank
M0VW4 8GB, 2400MHz, 1Rx8, Single Rank
FN6XK 8GB, 2133MHz, 2Rx8, Dual Rank
GTWW1 4GB, 2400MHz, 1Rx16, Single Rank
61H6H 4GB, 2133MHz, 1Rx8, Single Rank

I have a Dell XPS 8910 with 16GB of memory and it came as a single 16GB memory module, so it runs in single channel mode. If you research single channel vs dual channel there is not much performance difference unless you are doing serious simulation/parametric analysis. On the plus side, if you plan to increase memory to 64GB for example you will not be wasting two 8GB memory modules.

This is actually true for the XPS 8910, but the 8920 comes with two 8GB modules (I had two different quotes from Dell, one for a 8910 and 8920, and the diff was 6th vs 7th gen processor and 16gb vs 2*8gb memory)

Thanks for the information. I cannot get a straight answer from the Dell Chat line. I specifically asked about the memory module configuration on the 16GB system.  I am looking at a 8920 with two U2415 monitors. I have already found the monitors cheaper at Micro Center in Houston than what is listed on eth Dell Website. They have a 8920 with the Windows 10 Pro, NVIDIA 1080 Graphics Card and 16GB memory. This one only has a DVD and the top of the line has a Blue Ray disc which I need.

I have the 8920 and it has 2 modules of 8GB each

The XPS 8920 that I just received has the 2x8GB UDIMM installed in Slot 1 (dimm1) and 3 (dimm2). Supports up to 64GB, but you'd have to pitch the 2x8 modules. Dell seems to only offer 2x8GB for a memory upgrade which would take it to 32GB
