dell dimension 8200 desktop pc
i have a pc that i got from a friend i had to put new hard drive and upgraded memory now i have a yellow light on d if you look at the troubleshooting it tells you to contact dell but if i call you get to tech then they ask if you bought the dell when you say no they tell you that you have to register it anyone have any clue to get the yellow d light to turn green

OK, If I remember those dimensions had a specific type of memory. Replacing the hard drive should be ok, but put the original memory back in and try to boot it. see if it works and then let us know. If the memory is not exactly what it wants, the computer will not boot. In regards to support, you most likely would have to pay for support so it should not matter how you got it, the computer is most likely out of warranty anyway.

yeah, they need rambus memory. I still have one and it works. :emotion-4:

i did get 4 used and tested rambus memory off ebay which equals to 1gb of ram.ok i got a hard drive whichis 500gb iwas wondering if the ram is to small or do i have something else wrong
