dell inspiron 3847 no sound from 3.5mm headphone jack
i just recently bought a small set of computer speakers for my dell inspiron 3847. i plugged it into the back of the tower via usb, and now when i plug in my headphones into the front headphone jack on the tower to listen to the audio for movies or music,no sound goes through the headphones. need help troubleshooting this.

Hi,
In this case the system is working as per design. When the headphone's are plugged in the systems ask's you which is the device you chose for audio output. In this case check if the headphone's are selected as the primary device for audio output then this could be the situation.

I also have a sound issue, I recently acquired a Dell Studio 540 with no sound get a code 28 error code and messages that say have no output devices installed and Multimedia Audio Controller installed?
