dell precision 490 make usb always ON (when computer off)
hello everybody,
I have dell precision 490 and I wonder if I could make the USB always stay on, even when the computer if off!

Only if the 490 has a "power sharing" option in BIOS. I think this model may too old to have that option.
Reboot and immediately press F2 to open BIOS setup. If that option is available, enable it and be sure to save the change before exiting setup. Do NOT change anything else in BIOS setup.
Assuming you have a power sharing option, it may keep only one USB front port active all the time so you can, for example, charge a cell phone.

This is not and will not EVER be a feature. Its not there and thats why there are no
"Yellow" usb ports.
