dimension 4600 i ram memory

My dimension blocks (on internet) on a regular basis.

I have 512mb internal memory and I am advised to buy extra memory since the cpu usage is in case of difficulties 100%.

My questiopns are:

1) Can I buy just one extra memory of 512 mb and put it in the slot.

2) Can I buy just 1 of 1GB and remove the old 512 mb?

3) what is the best

Greetings, You can leave the 512 mb stick in there with the 1gig stick.

Or you could just fill up all 4 slots :)

Hi sers, HERE is your manual. As for your memory you can put in 128-, 256-, 512-MB or 1-GB into your slots. You can put5 in 4GB, so you can remove 510MB, and replace them with 1GB sticks. Your best going to www.crucial.com for your ram, they offer lifetime warranty. The type of memory you need is PC2700 (333-MHz) or PC3200 (400-MHz) DDR SDRAM (non-ECC).
