The fan is designed for intel chips on a 1155 socket. I wont work on a AMD processor

I put one of these in my Pavilion Slimline. It will fit all the popular AMD sockets and help cool the motherboard as well.

This is not as effective but is substantially cheaper.

mikey your first choice is good, you got the right fitting cooler, however I am not at home now, will come back here when I got home. Inspiron 570 socket is 775 or 775/1155, the difference is very small, a few mm. If it is only 1155 it might be a bit off the fitting screws. Apparently the rest of the people posting here doesn't know the real story - Inspiron 570 has Dell special CPU mounting, not standard AMD retention, nor current Intel push pins, cooler must be secured by screws!!!!

OK it is up to you if you don't want to listen a person who has same Inspiron 570, just take a look at your motherboard and tell me how you are planning to attach your cooler to CPU!

CPU is on the board's right side. Can you see 4 nut holes where the screws must go?! You have to use common sense, there are a few people here who knows what they are talking about, you may choose to listen or not - your choice, but if you stuck with unnecessary parts, well you will have nice paper weight!

Is there a reason why you believe the original heat sink and fan are good enough for this new processor?

It should work just fine as long as you clean off the old thermal pad and install new thermal paste.

And using the original heat sink means you won't have to worry about fitment (rubbing against any card or the case - looking at you Zalman), or possible problems with the power connector for the fan (resulting in the bios not being able to detect the fan speed and complaining every time that you boot the system).

If for some reason you do not have an original heat sink and fan you can get one complete with virgin thermal pad installed for under $20. Dell part number

Also, I am wondering how you have decided upon the Anthlon II X3 455.  I have no idea if it will or will not work in your Inspiron 570 but it is not on the list of processors that Dell states as compatible.  Did you hear from some other source that it is compatible?

Here is list of what Dell has stated as compatible with the Inspiron 570 (presumable with their latest version of the BIOS installed).

but whys everyone saying its not good for my computer than hmmmmm?!?!

Because, they don't know what they are talking about! Do they own Dell Inspiron 570 (as I do)? Nope, they just think of Dell as about another PC, wrong choice, Dell is about a lot proprietary parts, which fit only Dell systems.

Look at what "davet" said?

I just checked, our socket compatible with Intel 775 by size, so all Intel 775 coolers with screws are direct fit into our board. Keep in mind that your new CPU is 95 watt, it is very important, coolers with equal 95 or above will cool your CPU efficiently.

Dynatron P985 92mm Ball CPU Cooler reported to have good results with similar CPU as your choice, look into my conversation with OCMusicJunkie about it.

There are more choices, just scroll through his posts and read yourself. I would not recommend to go Phenom II x4 above 945, will produce a lot of heat to deal with

someone PLEASE to tell me what fan will work that's why I'm on here I just wanna know what fan will work

Most of us here are same people like you, when we have time we help by providing best answer we can. What I offered is a merely a suggestion, now you know which type of cooler to look for, you may find something better, who knows.

P.S. I am out until tomorrow about the same time.

I verified the Inspiron 570 mainboard on eBay -- it's an AMD (785 chipset).

The mounting holes might line up with a Socket 775, but I can't confirm it, because I don't have a 570. It does appear to have a non-standard mounting pattern similar to that of Intel's, and perhaps Dell used such heatsinks for its AMD products. If so, you can use a standard Socket 775 heatsink with screws, or even one with a plastic base provided you remove the plastic mounting pegs and replace them with spring-dampened screws like those in the Thermalright 775 Bolt-Thru kit. (I used that technique to mount a stock Intel heatsink in a Vostro 220s chassis.)

Wow, this is the most valuable suggestion in our situation here in months. I did this way my cooling improvising on screws from local plumbing store. Yes we have Socket 775 mounting, those screws can make us install basically any 775 product (after removing push pins, which I did) as long as those screws fit Dell back plate, which is difficult to remove. Thanks a lot for providing this example!

Good choice, should be enough for X3 CPU, might be not enough for 965 Phenom, since 965 = 125 watt.

! concern here check Wiki: Your choice AMD Athlon II X3 455 Rana 3.3GHz

Athlon II X3 455 C3 3.3 GHz 3x 512 KB 2 GHz 16.5x 0.85 - 1.4 95 W AM3 December 7, 2010 ADX455WFK32GM

Dell Bios might not recognize this processor, since last BIOS update was manufactured prior to December 7 2010 - it was done in November 2010, so all AMD processors after this date are not included in BIOS. My suggestion is to look for any AMD Athlon/Phenom processors Release Dates prior to November 2010.
