got new computer.. need specs on motherboard

someone gave me a computer..
but it has no chip or ram..
i need to find the specs so i can get a chap and ram..
the #'s i got off the moterboard are..
dpn mx-025reh-12405-12d-2304..
it is a socket 423..
i think it is a pentium 4..
any help would be greatly appreciated..

If it IS a P4, then it is most likely Socket478 (P4s can also be Socket LGA775/T) but thats newer and less likely). Also, the RAM is almost definitely 184-pin DDR DIMMs (99% probability).

I dont know anything about Dell product numbers, but if you look at pics of different socket types you can find out which socket it is. The only way i can say to be sure about your motherboard specs is to contact Dell of boot windows through it and run an analysis app like Everest or Sandra or WCPUID or whatever.

If it's a Dell system look for the model number on the outside of the case.  Once you have that info you can look up the technical specifications in the on-line version of the User Guide.  If it's a non-Dell system then try posting in the Dimension - Upgrade Hardware forum to see if someone is familiar with the board.
